Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Kim Scanlan knew the arts were her

calling from a young age. Growing up performing on stage in theatrical

productions, Scanlan has always felt that first and foremost, she is a storyteller.

Whether it's a song or architecture, her inspiration tends to derive from the

unique story behind each subject. In her collections, there is an obvious feminine

aesthetic while incorporating a sassy vintage flair. Scanlan heavily designs not only into the actual garments themselves but believes accessories truly complete any outfit. From handbags, earrings and shoes, Scanlan uses accessories as a key ingredient to her tastefully charming designs. 

 

From winning collegiate and national design competitions as a teen, Scanlan's goals were set high in the fashion industry and she never looked back. Graduating from the critically acclaimed fashion school at Kent State University, Scanlan is thrilled to dive head first into the apparel industry and bring her creations to life allowing young women to unleash their own whimsical in Kimberly Francesca.
